Trichopsis pumilis, Tr. schalleri en Tr. vittatus are known while they emit sound. That is why the Dutch aquarist gave them the name: knorgoerami, which means something like groaning goerami. These sounds are produced almost only during the display. Animals of the genus Trichogaster also produce sounds, only more discreet. As far as known at the moment one can better estimate this sounds of no particular importance.
For the rest you meet on this page a couple[ of African species. Ctenopoma weeksii and Ctenopoma acutirostre. Of this Labyrinth is

known that he can reach an age of at least 5 years whereas the other Labyrinths must be satisfied with an age of at highest a year or three. It is really a pity that we seldom see these highly interesting fishes in the aquariumshops. All the more because there can be found extraordinary colorful ones under them (See also the pages 37, 38 and 39)
